Transfers! And tons of photos :)

     So this was a pretty good week. I knew that this week transfers were coming, and was sure either Elder Gonzalez or I would have changes, so we just enjoyed our last week together. On Wednesday we go to the mission office and I get assigned my new companion, new area, and all that jazz. It'll be fun!

     I've really enjoyed my time here in Paso Ancho. It's amazing how little time it takes to really love the people and make great friends when you're dedicated to serving them. It's been a blast. And I'm excited for a new adventure!

     I'm pumped for these transfers! I can't really think about anything else. Just that an investigator who we've worked with for a loong time is finally getting baptized on Saturday :) He's dreamed and worked for this day for a long time. Woohoo!

What a wonderful abnormal week!

My comp went to get his cedula (ID), so while he did that, we baked a cake in the office!

 Rain picture! It's warm and sunny every day. And raining a ton. It rains for like 1-2 hours super hard.

 The baptisms :) President & Sister Hayes were able to attend. Lorena Jonathan and Carlos from our area and Dayanara from the sisters were all baptized!

 Hello everyone!

What a wonderful week this week. Normal weeks seem to be getting pretty hard to find here lately, because this one was really abnormal as well.

Monday we worked instead of having our free day, so that was pretty strange.

Tuesday was the normal District meeting stuff, and in the night, we headed over to sleep in the secretaries' house with like 20 other missionaries, because of Wednesday.

Wednesday, we went to the temple! So Wednesday became our free day. So after staying up till 2 AM with Elder Carter, my MTC comp, and the secretaries, who also came with us, reminiscing about the good old times, we woke up at 4 AM to head on out to the temple! The temple was really great and after the temple we had a little meeting with president which I loved a ton where he talked about being consecrated and living the higher law. It was really motivating. All in all, a great day! when we got back home, we slept for like 3 hours to catch up a little bit on all that lost sleep haha.

Thursday and Friday were our only normal work days, and then we got to conference! Which was a total blast. There's nothing like spending a bunch of time with all your gringo missionary friends! especially when that time is spent listening to living prophets of God. I loved the focus on keeping the gospel simple from President Uchtdorf, and how much focus they put on the Sabbath day. Its an ancient commandment but sometimes we put new, little things in front of the simple basic blocks of gospel living.

And that's the show, folks! Our investigator who came to conference, absolutely loved it as well. He said that there was one talk that he just felt like they were talking to him. He's a young father and it was the talk on being a parent. It was so wonderful to see him cherish the things that I too have learned to cherish. I love sharing the gospel!

The Challenges are There for a Reason

The ones I've used these 2 weeks do not fit me at allll hahaha", hopefully he'll pick up some new ones soon like Mom asked him to)

Hey everyone! I don't really have time today, but I'm alive!

     I just wanna share one quick experience. Yesterday, a member invited us to go visit someone with him. When he was in the temple he had felt that we should go and visit them with him. After having a leg amputated, he's now fighting cancer. It was such a humbling experience to go share with him a little bit. We're going to keep visiting him and his family, but it just really reminded me to be grateful for all that I have. I just left the house feeling so dumb for the things I whine about, when I've got the opportunity to be here, healthy, working, while so many people like him don't have that opportunity.

     I know this Church is true, and that God Has a plan! I testified of that to him, and I do so to all. God loves us! The challenges are there for a reason.

1. Yes! I got shoes. They're super nice and I love them and my knees don't hurt anymore :-)

2. Good. Normal. My district had a super good month, 7 baptisms, but the other district didn't baptize, so the district's good but the zone's pretty bad.

4. Yum! I've lost weight here in Paso Ancho. But just because I don't eat a lot. We eat pretty well here mom haha I love foood

6. GOOD! stressful. Glad it's done with and that they're all baptized and confirmed now!

Retainers I don't use. When I used them it gave me a cold because the saliva didn't go from my mouth to my throat anymore, so getting sick every time wasn't worth it.

Goodbye August...hello more miracles in September!

Hello everybody and goodbye august!

August was a pretty good month. September's gonna be even better!

This week are transfers, but I'm stayin' here in Paso Ancho! And my kid Elder Gonzales's sticking around for another transfer, too! That surprised me a lot because normally when a new missionary finishes his training, he or the trainer has changes, but we're just chilling together still! So I'm pretty excited. It'll be great to have 6 weeks with a companion where we've already got the rhythm and everything down.

So this week we saw some super awesome miracles. I have just seen how the Spirit touches the hearts of people.

For example we have this great investigator! And she has been doing everything and steadily receiving her testimony. But she kept saying that she was "50% sure" or "50% ready to be baptized" When, really, she had her answer already! Anyways, on Saturday night, she called the member that we've been working with with her, and told him that she had felt the firm impression that she needs to get baptized, now. Even though there's some barriers she knows that she's gotta get baptized! And her 2 sons are also doing well. So it seems like the 3 of them are gonna get baptized in September.

A lot of things like that! They were literally miracles! Nothing about showing people how they need to do anything, simply seeing the desire grow out of them out of nothing! it's been really great and I can see that the Lord is really prospering our district. we have a lot of really great possibilities for baptisms in September.

It's honestly just been an incredible time here in Paso Ancho. On Sunday we had an attendance of 136, which is a new record. It's a really high attendance and it looks like it's staying there! There were enough seats for approximately 5 more people. So things are looking good for our goal here, the expansion of the chapel. Apart from that, people are bringing friends to the church, and we're meeting people who want to come back to church, and everything's just working! It really is a testimony to me that God's will can't be frustrated.

There's a scripture which I love in Alma 50 (or maybe it was 51), that talks about the time that the people were living as being the happiest time that had existed among the Nephites. That's pretty much how I feel! We have to be sent challenges, and that's a part of life, but God also gives us times to enjoy and just have things go right.
